McCain: Obama has 'done well' as president so far

Quote from monty21:

Considering Obama's popularity in the polls, I don't think many politicians would criticize him too much. They wouldn't gain too much from that.

All said and done, Obama has been in office for only several months so lets wait a little more before we evaluate his work.

We all remember how America was when Bush entered office... and we all know how America was when Bush left office. :(

Bush was hit by 9/11. He was also hit by the telecom/internet bubble bursting. Bush was also hit by the financial meltdown. None of these had anything to do with who was president. Was the Depression Hoover's fault? Was the Civil War Lincoln's fault? Was WW2 Roosevelt's fault? The President is a cheerleader, not the causative force of good or bad economies. Not to mention how Congress can get in the way of the President's agenda.

Bush also invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 nor they ever attacked us.... he ruined the US reputation throughout the Middle East and elsewhere.. and he managed to lose support of our allies in Europe.

Bush expanded the role of federal government and massively increased the budget deficit.

He stole some of our liberties through the Patriot Act.

Bush's largest historical campaign contributor was Kenneth Lay and Enron... not suspicious?

Bush entered office with the S&P 500 around 1400 and left with it at 770. I'm sure he had zero to do with that drastic fall.

Cry me a river.

Obama is the same shit with different details.

Ofcourse Obama is... He is a Democrat. :p Bush on the other hand is a Republican and was supposed to be fiscally conservative.

Support Ron Paul and the Campaign for Liberty!

Quote from insider trading:

McCain is a good guy.If he would have stuck to the principles that made him McCain he would have been a better candidate imo.

McCain is just another idiot. The only people more stupid than him are those who voted Bush twice, not to mention those who wanted to vote for Bush a third time until they realized it is not possible.

You voted W. three times! Your ballot did not count because there was no Bush running in last election. You did not realize it?

Quote from Illum:

Is the government the solution to our problems or is it the cause? Does he believe Freddie and Fannie's intrusion in the market was good or bad.

You hit the nail on the head with the above statement.

If you are for market solutions and against government solutions, then Obama has done poorly. What the hell is McCain thinking? And therein is the point: McCain is not a believer in the free market, capitalism. Had he been, perhaps he would have run better. Instead he is warmed over Democratic principles masquerading under a Republican banner. This guy is an idiot.
