McCain can still win

Media in the tank (for O), market in the tank, and McCain polls in the tank. Game over most likely. The Republican party has committed suicide. I will await the birth of a new conservative or even a true libertarian movement. Perhaps the dems owning both houses and the Whitehouse will move too quickly to the left, and we will have another 1994. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Dems putting up a candidate that could not be criticized because of the current climate of political correctness was just pure genius! The Pubs putting up McCain::confused:

I will be trully amazed if McCain can pull it off. Sure didn't think he would win the Pub nomination, though, and for that reason there is still a distant sound of hoofs at the back of the pack.
 
McCain isn't going to win.

The media has been in the tank for Obama since the primaries. Ask Hillary.

The McCain plan was to bring up Ayers late in the campaign. The economy though didn't cooperate.

As I've mentioned several times I'm less distressed about Obama's relationships-although they're a reflection on his scuminess-than I'm distressed with the pattern of deceit that's been prevalent throughout the dozen years I've known him.

Few other politicians would be so successful using a see no evil defense. He never heard Wright's sermons, his grandmother is a "typical white", refusal to answer specific questions about his friendship with Ayers, a few BIG lies over Rezko, not releasing college transcripts, flip flopping on campaign reform...the list goes on and on. He's a silver tongued devil.

This was McCain's election to lose. He lost because while most of America will vote for Obama while holding their nose, McCain offered no compelling reason that he'd be better. McCain wouldn't be better he'd only be not as bad. Change from something bad isn't always an improvement. Who did the American media embrace in the late 1950"s? Fidel Castro. Conventional wisdom from intellectual media elites was "no one could fuck up Cuba more than the corrupt, evil Batista." Guess what? Someone could do worse!

So America will elect the candidate they deserve. I've followed Barrack Obama from his first day in Illinois politics-spoken to him one on one-campaigned for his Senate opponent. I can tell you two things about Obama. One he's a very smart guy, two he's an absolute lying piece of shit. I look at it this way. My new trading campaign is the shorting of Treasury Bonds. Hopefully it'll be my last speculative foray. I have little doubt Barrack Obama's policies will make me rich......

Dave unlike you I'm not so stupid as to believe ANY of Obama's stated policies will be adopted. The country is BROKE. I suggest you keep an eye on CME/CBOT ticker symbol ZB. A few months back do you know what Bond futures would be doing on a -500pt Dow break? Bonds would be up 3 handles. Today? LOWER. I've got news for Obama and the Democrats. THEY may be concerned with ramping up the heat on al-Queda and exploding social programs and increasing education spending and funding windmills and this and that. Good for them. Then go pay for it. The credit window for American spending is CLOSED. I'll be blunt. If I wanted to lend money to a liberal government in a country half nig/spic I'd buy Brazilian debt. Do you even know what they yield? The 3yr down there is 15% I've seen the future. It's the Brazilianization of America.

I've been short on and off for 2 years. Honestly I've lost 100k plus in Treasuries during that time. Rather than take profits I ADD to winners. When prices snap back I'm then of course fucked. Fortunately I've done well in index futures/options so I'm actually up 2x that amount from q4/06-present. That's my style though. I started trading Bonds on the floor with 10k and turned it into 2.2 mil by doubling up on LONGS. Naturally that 2.2 went back to only a few hundo when the market turned.:)

When ZB was coming back through 119 last Wednesday I bought Dec 113-109 put spreads 20 by 30. I've been long Dec 103p's for weeks and they're actually still pumped! I want to get something REAL crazy on like 100 March's but premiums are really, really high. The last time I played it with a naked collar I b116p and sold 120c to finance it and I lost 50k in day's so I'm hesitant to go that road again. If you want to under trade though writing calls to buy puts is a great way to do it. My #1 concern is timing. It could take 2 years to get this going. Minimum though I see the Long Bond going to 8% (what was par on the old coupon futures contract) Like a Taleb type trader I think there's a 20% chance of Treasury debt being worthless in a half dozen years.
