Mayor of Rome Calls for Ban on Immigration to the City

Mayor of Rome Calls for Ban on Immigration to the City

The mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, has asked the Italian government to temporarily halt immigration to the city.

In a letter reportedly sent to Paola Basilone, the prefect of Rome, Raggi (pictured) called for a “moratorium” on new arrivals and said: “I find it impossible, as well as risky, to think up further accommodation structures.”

The mayor, a member of the anti-establishment Five Star Movement political party, explained she was making the request because of the “strong migratory presence” in Rome and “the continued influx of foreign citizens”.

It’s not clear how long the temporary ban, reported by thelocal.it, would last.

According to the most recent figures published in Italy on January 1, 2016, there were 364,632 foreign-born people registered as living in Rome, which has a metropolitan population of about 4.35 million. Foreigners represent about eight per cent of its population.

According to the 2016 census, Italy has a population of about 60.5 million. However, it has experienced a steady flow of African and Middle Eastern migration from Libya in recent years, almost certainly blurring the true picture of how many people live in the country.

Figures released by the National Institute for Statistics in Italy (Istat) today state that more than five million people living in the country are foreign-born – equivalent to about 8.3 percent of the national population.

About half of Rome’s foreign-born population is from Europe, with Romania the best represented country.

On a national level, European immigrants are thought to account for more than 50 percent of the total foreign-born population.

Threatened with sanctions for refusing to accept the compulsory migrant quotas being imposed on European Union member-states by Brussels, the Hungarian government has declared that Islam and Europe “are incapable of coexisting without conflict”.
Zoltán Balog, the Central European country’s Minister for Human Capacities, branded the European Commission which leads the bloc as “helpless, bewildered and weak” in the face of the migrant crisis. Mr. Balog added the bloc was incapable of providing a solution and resentful of the fact that Hungary, Poland, and now the Czech Republic, have found one in the form of robust border controls.

What a shocker: Hungary's border walls pay for themselves through savings on cost of supporting illegal migrants. http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/03/07/exclusive-securing-borders-costs-less-illegal-mass-migration-says-hungary/ …

Cost of Illegal Immigration Higher than Cost of Securing Borders
Hungary's border "wall" has paid for itself through substantial savings on the cost of illegal immigration.

“Islam is a major culture and religion,” Balog explained, “but Europe has a different identity, and it is clear that these two cultures are incapable of coexisting without conflict.”

The multilingual graduate theologian believes that “The greatest difference is that in Europe, politics and religion have been separated from one another, but in the case of Islam it is religion that determines politics.”

Polish PM on Manchester Attack: ‘Europe, Rise from Your Knees or You’ll Be Crying over Your...
The prime minister of Poland has launched a blistering attack on Europe's “political elites” in the wake of the Manchester terror attack.

With Germany, Sweden, and other EU member-states who encouraged mass immigration at the height of the crisis struggling with the exorbitant cost of the influx, the EU forced compulsory migrant quotas on the rest of the bloc despite vigorous opposition from Central Europe.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been resisting the quota system ever since, and Balog reiterated his government’s intention to resist “arbitrary measures” which they consider “unlawful and dangerous”.

The EU is, therefore, preparing to impose sanctions on Hungary and other recalcitrant member-states, causing a defiant Orbán to chastise Brussels as being “openly on the side of terrorists” and to vow: “As long as I am the Prime Minister of Hungary and stand here, so will the border fence.”

Open borders to remain “inviolable principle” of the EU, no matter how bad the migrant crisis and terrorism become. http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/07/25/juncker-vows-eu-open-borders-always/ …

Juncker: No Matter How Bad Migrant Crisis, Terrorism Gets, We'll Never Give Up On Open Borders
Jean-Claude Juncker has vowed that no matter how bad terrorism or the migrant crisis get, the EU will never give up on open borders.

He is being supported by the conservative Law and Justice administration in Poland, with Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski declaring: “We do not agree to such blackmail; with the notion that if you do not accept migrants … you will be financially punished.”

So that explains the sudden surge of Italians moving in this other EU Western country, that many here criticise.
I hope that Italians do adopt the local manners and ways of being of this EU country that seem to make illegals and Italians and also British move there. :D :D :D

Trump should reach out to Poland, Hungary and any other countries that run afoul of the EU or Germany on this issue and grant them special trade deals.

Many Eastern Europeans ( Polish, Hungarian, Romanians, Albanians, Tchek, etc ) are also piling up in this WESTERN EU country!

Acrtually AAA, did you knew that? it was between 100k-300k people in one year.

To provide some context, Iran was invaded by the Allied powers and occupied primarily by Britain in WW2. The refugees were welcomed in Iran by the British (mainly so their men could join the free Polish forces, etc.). The Iranians viewed the Allies as occupiers and were very much aligned with the Axis powers -- as was their disposed leader. Reza Shah. Let's also mention that the refugees were not made the least bit welcome by the native Iranians who demanded all the refugees leave in 1946 under pain of death.

Here is some more info... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Soviet_invasion_of_Iran

It's interesting to contrast the points of views.
Here, one example of a Polish refugee that stayed in Iran, interviewed by one type of missle-esat viewpoint
http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/fe...ory-polish-refugees-iran-170321100222499.html
They do not talk about the British being those who asked for the Poles to come to Iran.
Then https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evacuation_of_Polish_civilians_from_the_USSR_in_World_War_II
there again, another perspective where it is not about British asking/welcoming Polish refugees to come to Iran,
but once in Iran the British did obviously use the Polish refugees ( moving them along the way).

I wonder what all those Poles had in common? At anyrate, those that survived ended up in Israel, now what do you want to do with them?
