Maybe Social Distancing is Wrong?

That is an awesome graph.
We don't know where the curves really are... but this needs to be discussed.
Is govt shutting down the economy really the right thing to do?

I was in line at costco this morning.
Lady in front of me owned a business putting on events. She says they are good for two months or her business will be gone.

She says the restaurant people she works with range from month to month and almost out of business right now to they can float the business for a few months and then its gone.
Then what happens to the landlords
The banks with the commericial loans
We saw the fed is already buying back mortgages..



So while medicine is great much of the time.
Sometimes nature is best left unchecked.
It takes really smart people to make really educated guesses.
I don't see the really smart people making calls right now.

I see politicians making calls.

So far only Dr. Faucci seems to be the only smart guy taking center stage.
We need a few hundred like him.
Explaining what is going on in each state.

Finally, this is the reason we have to take money out of politics and make it more appealing to smart people.

It really depends on your personal values in life. But, understand that inaction will cause economic harm, too.

Every death of a senior citizen pulls them out of the economy. The scale of loss of life would be massive in terms of dollars. The disruption of a wide spread sickness would be a large enough negative impact on the economy to slow growth on its own.

There is no easy button here. What I will say is that even Donald Trump understands the seriousness of what we are facing and he is the most pro-economy figure in America. Even he understands there is no upside to what we are facing.

Ok, you’ve shown an ability to complain but can you do anything more than that?

What is your alternative to isolation?

1. Trump did not fire enough swamp people.
2. He also did not hire enough good replacements.

But, we have almost nothing except edicts in CA.
No explanations from smart people
just shut downs.

No smart people from what I can tell.
Absolute Vacuum in leadership standing up right now.
They all seem to be afraid to stand up.
(except Pence who is putting his reputation and career on the line)

For instance almost no useful words from San Diego Schools District leaders from what I can tell.
One of my sons is a senior..
His friends are wondering if they will be graduating (with or without a ceremony)
What it be so hard to guarantee they will graduate and tell them they will put some course up on line... pass / fail or no grades just attendance?


We can't even get Infections Disease experts to tell
us what they do know.

I am not personally concerned...
I have been training and eating right for over a year.
But, I can't believe the lack response and education.

just edicts.

Are we allowed to question this tactic?

We're all being force-fed social distancing, and many have accepted it as gospel, but is it the right way to go?

- Jobs are being lost, interviews canceled, forcing people into poverty... poverty is a killer too!
- There is a psychological consequence of isolation
- Students' education is suffering

How effective is it _really_? Many of these people may practice social distancing for 23 hours a day... and then crowd into grocery stores to buy more toilet paper.

I'd like to open a dialogue about how effective it really is.
