Maybe Obama Can Lose...

Quote from hapaboy:

As expected, certain Obama-is-Savior types have decided that to bring up the Rev. Wright would be slimy and a tactic only the far right would consider.

Apparently to people wearing such blinders, the fact that Obama attended Wright's church for many years and considered Wright a close personal friend should be dismissed without further thought.

Rev. Wright is second on the list of approximately 800 things the great Obama has decreed must not be discussed (number one is his middle name). The mainstream media have dutifully fallen into line and will hurl angry accusations of "Swiftboat" at anyone who violates their self-censorship pledge.

Interestingly, the term "Swiftboat" has replaced in current usage the formerly used term "Willie Horton." Both refer to the odious practice of dispelling liberal myths with fact.

The media have evolved an interesting method of cohabitation with the New Media, which made many of their former practices impracticable. Outright lying and defamation before an election for example became problematic. See Rather, Dan. Simply ignoring unflattering items as "unnewsworthy" remains acceptable. See Edwards, John, love child. Of course, seeking to delegitimize opponent's points with invective or ad hominem remains a staple. See Swiftboat, above.

Quote from Jayford:

As expected?

I brought it up, and I despise Obama, and will be voting for Mac (cause I fear him less). Try looking at any of my past posts and find one where I support Obama. Doesn't exist.

I don't equate Mac with the far right at all either. Never implied the Republican Party or Mac would support this, just wouldn't surprise me if one of the way right groups did it. I don't expect it, just wouldn't surprise me.

Nice theory though Hapa.
Wasn't referring to you, Jay! :)
