Maximum ES contracts you would trade with $3,800 account

correction - that should read $4K

and I was trading evrything T-notes, mini metals, meats, grains - basically all the contracts with margin less than $3k

No - the $4k account was a sidekick account - i wanted to prove a point to some doubting Thomases that it can be done. I was not really taking any insane leverage - it very controlled

$4k account...great trading..."it can be done"...with control...!!!thanks Shagi

1 per $5k.

1pt = 1% of your portfolio.

You're going to need to learn sometime. As long as that 5k isn't a huge chunk of your net worth, 1 MAYBE 2 is no problem.

How come no one's considering the total net worth of the individual? Guy might be a millionaire with a 5k account.

but see the difference was that he had lots of trading experience and it was, as he puts it, a "sidekick account" meaning that even if he lost the whole thing I bet his life would not be altered in any significant way and his trading career would go on.
