Maxed out credit card.

Quote from biologymajor:

I don't trade forex. I never have. Don't know how. Maybe I should learn. Might do better.

And I gave up stocks(lost too much money, they make me sick to think about them). I'm thinking of trading emini's again. I've been following them a bit. I wonder what futures brokers handle cash advances like the forex account you talked about does. Anybody know of any futures brokers that allow credit cards for account funding?

Serious mistake my friend,

Stay with your managerial job,

2) only trade stocks till you get it.
never deviate into casinos such as forex, or of an lesser of extent, futures.

WOW bigmrfrank, You are NOT a nice person. I don't think it is very nice to laugh at somebody that loses in the stock market like you just did to somebody on here. You must have had a very bad childhood growing up with mean parents. And that is why you are mean to people on here. You should change your attitude about people. I am a biology major and your psychological way of thinking is very mentally sick and abnormal.

In truth, outside of the market and business arena I'm a loving and caring individual. Once it's show time I crush "nice" guys. I was the guy selling you shares while you were buying tops and buying your shares while you were getting shaked out.

Biology major eh? I bet that comes in handy at McDonalds.

Bigmrfran sounds like a real idiot.

bigmrfran - People that have biology degree's go on to become doctors and surgeons. Biology degree's aren't easy to get. If you don't know that, then I don't think you should be daytrading. You don't sound very bright. You actually sound like a retard in all your posts.

And did you get free miles?

Wow! What a silly thread.

Anyway, about 18 months ago when I dabbling in forex I discovered a ditty.

Mind you, I am not condoning using CC for funding a trading account. I have NEVER done so, do not plan on EVER doing so.

Here's the poop...
Open a forex account at a broker that allows acct funding via CC. At the time of this discovery I was opening an account with forex.com (but I did not use this method for funding). I did inquire about it though.

Bottomline; CC funding @Forex.com is put through the CC as a purchase, not a cash advance! This has several advantages like grace period, larger amounts, and better interest rates. Funds are available within 24hrs usually. Make a scalp or two and then withdrawl. Keep the account open and repeat as needed.

Kill 'em dead!

Osorico[never taken a cash advance from a credit card for any reason]

Come on Sarah ... you can do better than that. Your clever reply is one notch above saying "I'm rubber, you're glue". FWIW, our brilliant biologist stated he was using his superior intellect in a food establishment ... OK, I was just guessing at the McDonald's part.

Let me stand up for the biologist... I too have a biology degree, but it's not useful in trading. It was a fascinating study but required mostly the ability to remember things. I suppose once a biologist got into the field and did research, some analytical skills an logic may come into play.

I also tutored chemistry... much better about logic and thinking things out.

And IMO, even superior intellect is no guarantee of success. Rember LTCM?

Trading requires certain abilities, of course... most of which are not taught anywhere but rather learned in the trenches.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who earns a degree of such high order. It takes great commitment and dedication. Your (and hopefully the OP's) achievement will not come back void. I do however have a problem with those who notate thier education level to augment a point to which that given background or degree is completely inrelevant. I have an MBA but I wouldn't use that as an crutch while dispensing marital advise. That would just be tacky, borish and degrading

Years ago I asked an options trader, "if you were to teach me to trade, how long would it be before I was up to speed?".

He said, "5 years".

I replied, "I don't know about 5 years, I'm pretty smart".

He said, "I was counting on that". :D
