Maverick74 and marketsurfer's TopstepTrader Combine (daily trade reports and journal)

Quote from Maverick74:

Hey nice job Austin. You have been beating oil with an ugly stick for a week now. Can you post your performance metrics for both Beans and Oil? It sucks if you miss the metrics on beans then it nulls the combine altogether. My best advice for anyone who wants to trade more then one product is probably do a combine for each individual product. That way you isolate the performance from each.

I didn't realize it was possible to run multiple combines for various symbols in the future. I figured funded once and done. That's on me, it was my responsibility to know ahead of time.

If I miss the specs for this round I'll repeat with just CL alone and feel pretty confident about hitting all cylinders for that. Either way, once I complete my time in CL I'll repeat the process with NQ alone.

To be honest, I've under-performed in CL the whole time and it is greatly due to my distractions with ZS. Decisions made at the time, I realize now that I have no further interest in block-trading ZS either combo or funded in the visible future.

So right now, do Beans disqualify you?

I think position trading spreads is the only way to trade the ag stuff. The intraday price action almost always seems to leave something to be desired with regards to daytrading.

I don't know how to look that up. I'd guess probably so, we'll see. I won't trade them any further so whatever it is, it will be

edit: I figured it out, two different tabs for viewing on the profile. ZS would disqualify me now because win % is below 45 and the only way to raise that would be keep trading it.

Five net-loss sessions in ZS including today, I could feasibly trade ZS Mon - Tue and pull out the necessary parameters. If necessary I'll do that and try, but under no circumstances will I block trade it past there.

gotcha... still mathematically alive in all categories with or without ZS... not a deal-breaker at this moment in time.

Yes but ZS has to qualify as well. You need to be net positive and meet 2 of the 3 criteria. You might be a little short so it would definitely benefit you to see what you have to do there in the next two sessions. Maybe you just need one trade there to get you over the hump.

I agree. Even the calendar spreads are volatile though. LOL. Honestly, I just think you are better off using options. But you are right, the intra-day spikes in these products in both directions feel very random to me.

Nice work, Austin :)

It's not easy maintaining the pure discipline of the trader's mindset when a) in public view, and b) under pressure to meet a specific goal within a time constraint.

I have no idea how you trade bean and oil. I found that trading 6E, ES, and CL at the same time diminished my result as compared to focusing intently on just one instrument. CL's price action is very reliable, especially in a certain way ;-) and the number of daily opportunities is incredible.

Good luck in the home stretch!

yes, my point. I can technically trade ZS well and pull it out, but that's neither here nor there for future reference. I won't be trading it at all if funded. So I'll work ZS if necessary to complete the combine parameters this round, and done with it past there regardless.
