Maverick74 and marketsurfer's TopstepTrader Combine (daily trade reports and journal)

Quote from pairsarbtooo:

so far this is one of the most effective posts on this thread...i have only read this far though from 10 2012.

We have not announced this anywhere yet but for all those following this, Maverick is getting funded by our equity partner. He successfully completed a Combine and will be working with John Hoagland our Head Trading Coach.

Just a little fyi. More to come.

Quote from rknas:

Trade only products permitted to trade, during the permitted times - OK
Do not hold a position into the electronic close of the product trading (recruits may trade overnight but must be flat when their product's electronic market is closed) - OK
Trade all required days of the Combine (10 or 20 days, each to be completed within 30 or 60 calendar days, respectively) - OK
Always use stops with an open position (auto OCO recommended) - OK
Overall Winning Day % of 50 or greater - Why? You don't need to win 1/2 the days to make money.
Do not hit or exceed the daily loss limit (NET P&L) - OK

Additionally, each product traded during the Combine must meet at least TWO of the performance requirements listed below AND have a trading average greater than zero ($0):

Overall Average Win greater than Overall Average Loss - OK
Overall Average Win Duration greater than Overall Average Loss Duration - Why? So what if it took your stop after chopping around for 2 hours or took your stop right away?
Total Win % of 45 or greater - Why? What if you have Win% of 35 and RR of 4x or 5x?

Wishing the best to both Maverick74 and marketsurfer.

these were my criticisms exactly when reviewing the rules of this "combine." I play poker, and I have traded very profitably. Most of the time in poker I fold. In fact, thats is the statistic shared among the to 10 money winners in poker prior to 2008. I don't know the current statistics on top poker money winners. These criteria for the 'Combine' are selecting for an even smaller subset of the already very small subset of traders that demonstrate profitability. My currect systems would not work with this combine.

Pairsarbtoo- Submit your proposal to our scout team. We evaluate many traders different then what you see above if they were first approved.

Maverick has been on these boards for years and accepted a 50,000 stake?

Magnetar- Maverick didn't accept anything as we never offered him anything. Maverick was in our Combine after initially participating in this thread where I offered a Combine to both of the ET vets, and he continued in the program and ended up earning his opportunity by meeting and exceeding our $150k Combine Objective. Hats off to him.

I didnt say you funded him. Your equity source did. What's the difference? Anyways, he's been on here for 10 years and took a stake trading futures at $5 a round-turn. wow.

Well done Mav!

Congratulation Maverick on beating the combine and becoming a full time emini trader. Hopefully they will ramp up your capital so you can trade large enough size to make a living--- you have what it takes, its just a matter of execution and size from here. Good Luck! surf

Guys- I had updated this post about my mistake on announcing Maverick74 as getting funded last week. I guess the revert back to the old ET site wiped this post.

I will reiterate that I made a mistake when seeing the name 'Maverick' come across my desk as the next trader to get funded. I do apologize for assuming it was the Maverick here at ET. We call everyone by their chatnames in the office so there was a bit of confusion.

I have met the real Maverick74 here at ET and do owe him a beer or few for the misunderstanding.

Sorry about the confusion guys.
