Quote from Ricter:
For those of you just joining us, the story so far:
Maverick thinks RCG is a pathological liar, so he's invited RCG to dinner. RCG appears to be reluctant to attend. Since the reluctance is hard to understand, various theories are being subtly introduced to explain it.
Actually no. Short on the facts once again. RCG befriended Mav on a trading thread. RCG e-mailed Mav several times saying how he would like to come into the city sometime for dinner or drinks. RCG again several months later re-iterated how he would really like to me meet Mav for drinks. Said it was DEFINITELY on his to do list. A few months later Mav and RCG make a bet on the result of the coming election where both men gave their word to buy the other dinner if they lost the bet. A month or so after the bet Mav decides to go ahead and see if RCG would like to meet before the bet because you know, summer in Chicago is nicer then Nov in Chicago. So Mav extends the invitation to RCG.
Those are the facts Ricter. I know as liberal you try to skirt them as much as possible. But the facts are as they are laid before you. You can make up your own narrative if you want. I really don't mind. But if you are going to write a post for the latecomers to the thread, couldn't you at least use the facts just this once then go back to fictional storytelling? Just a suggestion...
