Matrox DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go..

Quote from Pirate Yarr:

I have used the triple head to go, for travel with my laptop.

However, I sold the triple head 2 go, and got this.

the EVGA plus, you can plug up to 6 of them (depending on how many usb ports u have). Also, you can extend your desktop or mirror, and they are cheaper than buying a triple head 2 go, and better resolution also.

I have used both products, and these things are way better than buying the triple head 3 go. Note also, for 3 monitors on your laptop, you only require 2 evga devices, just plug the 3rd monitor into the vga plug.

Seems like this device is the way to go. The price is right at $79 a pop and it surely beats Triple ... by M. I think I will go for one of these and if it works I will be one happy fella. Thanx for the info mate! :D

Very interesting. You can get the same or better resolution, speed and clarity by plugging the externals into a USB port with this device? If so, I'd think this would put Matrox out of business.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this EVGA plus.

If t is so then, it is truly a product to purchase. I have a soft spot for Matrox (first company from which I bought my very first video card), but if it is better and cheaper, then ciao Matrox!

What size monitors are you running on this device?

Could it be that it is Vista that is screwing with the set up? I have heard that V. is not very friendly to multiple monitor set ups. Perhaps it would work under Xp pro?

Too bad I would have to fork around $300 to find out.

Have another PC/quad on Vista and it's rock solid

I have 2 evga plus devices which each run 19 inch monitors, and I have a 3rd 19 inch monitor straight to the video card on the laptop. so including the laptop screen , I have 4 screens, perfect for travel.

Sounds like a nice setup. :D

Here is my perfect travel set up.

One of these:

One of these:

One of these:

Two of these:

Swiss Army makes a (carry on) case that fits all of this but I can't find the item number right now. It has 4 zippered compartments; one for both monitors, one for the laptop, one for the docking station and he front section for cables and extras.

This set up gives you plenty of screen space plus a ton of computing power. I run Vista Ultimate but XP Pro is as robust. I personally prefer XP but I've configured my laptop to maximize Vista . . . if that's at all possible.

I run MultiCharts and eSignal for charting and data. I then run JTrader for my platform. I have plenty of power to spare in any situation so far. It has been well worth the investment.

Finally, NEVER run anything related to Norton or McAfee on your system. For antivirus use www.avast.com. Keep your system clean and stay away from the porn sites and this set up should run for years without a problem. I update every two years just because I have the "Tim Allen" mentality of wanting the most efficient set up out there.

Sweet set-up Proflogic. Those monitors are a nice find. I've had to check my externals when I travel. Last time, I actually watched a monitor (in its box) fall off a luggage conveyor 5 feet to the ground. Uggh....fortunately, it didn't break. Much better to have a monitor size you can carry onto the plane.

Two of them fold up into about the same space as the laptop and the resolution is perfect for what I need. I love them.
