I, unlike you, have respect for the man in the presidential office.
This is a dangerous message. I live in this country called the U.S.A. and I want Trump to succeed in making this country a great place to live for all people including immigrants. I want my country to once again to be the land of opportunity, and I hope that is implicit in Trump's, and Ronald Reagan's, message: 'Make America Great Again.'
I haven't heard, not yet anyway, anyone on mainstream media say that their job was to see that Trump did not succeed; that they would do all in their power to ruin his administration. That was the message from the Republican leadership upon Obama's election. Until I hear such a message from the media, I will assume the media is doing its best to report facts and at the same time gain listeners and viewers in order to sell advertising. This is the job of the media in a capitalist country! But if I hear that distasteful, Republican message from the media, aimed this time at Donald Trump, I will think no higher of the media than I do of the Republican leadership. Until then, I'm OK with the media reporting, so long as there is an effort to be factual and balanced. If the balance of public opinion is unfavorable toward the Trump administration, then we should expect that to be reflected by the media. The U.S. media, being driven by advertising revenue, with the possible exception of PBS, NPR, and a few other independent organizations, can be expected to show some deference toward majority opinion. That's how it is in a capitalist society.

Your thanks aren't needed or desired, Ricter. You have the right to lower yourself to the standards others set. Like GWB, I cannot recall a single time ever mangling the name of the President. But I recognize not everyone wants to take the high ground.
