Mass Gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet Greater than Losses

How many times do you these people have to be wrong before people stop believing them?

A new NASA study says that an increase in Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years ago is currently adding enough ice to the continent to outweigh the increased losses from its thinning glaciers.

The research challenges the conclusions of other studies, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) 2013 report, which says that Antarctica is overall losing land ice.

A good example of the honesty of the climate scientists and the self-correcting nature of science. Thanks for posting.

From the article......

But it might only take a few decades for Antarctica’s growth to reverse, according to Zwally. “If the losses of the Antarctic Peninsula and parts of West Antarctica continue to increase at the same rate they’ve been increasing for the last two decades, the losses will catch up with the long-term gain in East Antarctica in 20 or 30 years -- I don’t think there will be enough snowfall increase to offset these losses.”

"Doing altimetry accurately for very large areas is extraordinarily difficult, and there are measurements of snow accumulation that need to be done independently to understand what’s happening in these places,” Smith said.

And CO2 is STILL a greenhouse gas and the world is still rapidly warming.

Just how many times are you going to post this fabricated chart. You are now up over 100.

Pure information free content.

any time peer reviewed science comes out with scientists names on it, it is worthy of consideration.

you ricter have been pushing the ice is melting for years.
Are you still going to push that thought...
or are you going to reconsider and say maybe we don't know if the ice is melting because of global warming... because it might not even be melting on net... given... as I told you many times in the past... the studies you had been relying upon were being corrected by recent data and studies.

By the way one of the lead scientists on this new study... is an agw nutter from NASA.

I might add... that I don't know what is happening to the ice... I have to rely on the data and the scientists interpretation of the data. We when we read the previous studies we saw that the conclusions involved art and guesses because of limited sampling. This study supposedly took a lot of the guesswork out.
