This has been an interesting discussion. It is a shame that most of you have not read what she was actually indited for. The Feds very specifically said NO to "insider trading". They did not charge her with that CRIME. Friedman aside, IT IS ILLEGAL!!
Imagine if the blackjack dealer in Vegas could see your cards and thus could bet accordingly?
She is charged with LYING to the FEDS. This is the same charge that cost Nixon the Presidency. If she is convicted she will go to jail. There is no parole in the Fed system. Minimum jail time is set by some sort of statue. Judge has very little choices.
She is stupid beyond belief as she thinks she is bulletproof and has let her PR people handle the defense instead of real lawyers. When the FBI comes in to talk to you under oath you tell the truth or go to jail. If she had done that she would have paid a little fine, given back the profit and gone on down the road.

According to the Fed's , her newspaper ad WILL be used against her to PROVE she was lying as well....She is a dumb ass...Why risk a billion business for a few thousand?,,,And as far as lying under oath, it was more then that...apparently, she was taped talking to that broker after the fact and was trying to get him to 'alter and or destroy ' records....that's obstruction folks.....BUT....at the end of the day...she will not spend a day in jail and will pay a 1 million fine
I do not beleive she is stupid.....she is powerful and greedy and like most in that position, they feel they are above the law.
Did the guys at Adelphia have to do what they did? Did Tyson have to rape to get a girl? They don;t think they are doing anything wrong because they are above the law...Like Clinton when he lied under oath, or NIxon for that matter.
