love and respect are both big parts of the equation. i put love slightly ahead of respect, but respect is totally a must.

i have been down the respect path, without love, respect doesn't have much adhesion over the long term.

love without respect is weak, also, one needs both.

yeah, it totally depends on your location. i grew up in pittsburgh-- all the hot girls went for the stupid jocks. didn't matter that they couldn't spell, were poor, and illiterate--as long as they looked good / had muscles and were generally oversized, the hot ones would go for them and usually get married quickly having children. one example--the hottest girl in my highschool--- couple years ago, i saw her working in a diner in some godforsaken hicktown--still married to the stupid jock and miserable.

now living on the main line of philly and being in NYC alot, i see the fattest, plainest, nerdiest dudes with the hottest women. i also see lots of plain girls happily married to super rich men. i think its an socioeconomic/educational thing. smart, hot girls are attracted to smart/clever ( sometimes rich ) guys even if the guy isn't hot.

nerds and gentlemen RULE in wealthy educated areas.

stupid, supersized jocks and Neanderthals RULE in poor/uneducated hicktowns.

the cycle of life goes on....

Ditto on the respect, the fire of love went up the chimney. My first wife, after about 5 years of marriage said she loves me like a brother. mnnhhhhh! She would of been fine with that forever, I needed the razzle dazzle, ta ta. Me being the nice "brother" I walked away from it all. I gave her the house, the car, yada yada. No regrets, just the breaks of the game.
