Marriage was ment for noble families inorder to protect two houses wealth. It was not ment for the commoners. A woman can make more money by finding an idiot taking his money and then finding a new one. If she pops out a couple of rug brats she get bonus allimony dollars. Women know they have the system under thier control and use it to the fullest extent. After militant feminism gain popularity in the last century the common man doomed. Men used to be respected but are now looked at nothing more than walking ATM's.
The state does not care if people get married only organized religion. The state only needs new meat to fill the rolls and make sure there is enough fodder to kept the power elite content.

Few things that can help the losers ( most of the posters here?) one be better prepared next time:
* know yourself very very well : this starts by being honest with yourself. A bit like trading.
* make sure the other person does love you for who you really are :
marriage is a test of time and sooner or later she/he'll find out. Like a margin call, sooner or later your losing trade will have to be closed. Here the broker getting you out of the trade is your partner.
* make sure you love the person for the right reasons - money is not the right reason, status is not the right reason... personality and charater for instance can be. A bit like trading, enter in a trade for the right reasons.
* make sure there is real chemistry. One lad had the habit of sexing his girls 2 or 3 times a day. According to him, if she doesn't really love you, she won't continue long. I don't know if he came across a nymphomane, but they are still married while many of their friends have hit the divorce court.
* most important : have genuine joy with each other. Genuine joy does resist the test of time.

Now if your real issue is to get sex, money and good looks will always get you there ( hookers professional and occasional) . Obviously when these are gone, the sex goes as well.

As in trading, work on your own psychology.

cutting your losses quickly; means before you have any kids. Then you will most likely have the tendency of averaging down, until you hold out for the eventual huge drawdown. Then you may not have any money left in your account to trade (old and washed up)

on the other hand if you are in a good trade you work on increasing size to maximize your return....work on making the relationship flourish...

Good grief. Stop watching chick flicks, put down the romance novels and learn to be a man. Used to be that boys learned to shoot Old Yeller. Guess they don't anymore.
