Markets Recovery... (we were due for some jawboning)

I didn't challenge your excessive use of the word "pandemic". I just pointed out that due to its contagiousness nature, Covid-19 can't be grouped with other diseases like diabetes or cancer. there are actually valid reasons to be on alert especially since the virus was originated in a country that is not known for its open communications and secondly for sheer incompetence of our government.
Fair enough.

Yikes, if true.

Scientists Discover HIV-Like "Mutation" Which Makes Coronavirus Extremely Infectious

Other highly contagious viruses, including HIV and Ebola, target an enzyme called furin, which works as a protein activator in the human body. Many proteins are inactive or dormant when they are produced and have to be “cut” at specific points to activate their various functions.

When looking at the genome sequence of the new coronavirus, Professor Ruan Jishou and his team at Nankai University in Tianjin found a section of mutated genes that did not exist in Sars, but were similar to those found in HIV and Ebola. -SCMP

"This finding suggests that 2019-nCoV [the new coronavirus] may be significantly different from the Sars coronavirus in the infection pathway," reads the paper published this month on Chinaxiv.org - a platform used by the Chinese Academy of Sciences which releases research papers prior to peer-review.

"This virus may use the packing mechanisms of other viruses such as HIV," they added.

Sure, this was all done to hurt your pension and Trump... its all about you and how it makes you feel.

Some days I wish I'd never attend a talk by the late (great) Professor Al Bartlett way back in the beginning of the '90s. He used to give talks centring around population and energy at that time and was born in 1929.

Some guy started arguing bla bla mathematic certainties were just conspiracy against the US economy and the professor who was a true gent laid into him for being such a prime example of a post WWII boom blue collar-no-nothing-prince of the most spoilt large generation in human history.

Well Al passed a while back but he really deserves to know his prediction about how boomers were going to fuck it all up is spot on.

As you don't need to leave home to work and can skip a few alcoholics anonymous meetings, you don't need to be bothered by all this. Others live in the real world and have to plan. The only thing that came up in the meeting is that Trump is fabulating bullshit about the absolutely agreed figures of flu mortality but he has put it all on Pence who is less incompetent if he lets him actually do the job.

Edit: I am pretty sure it was that talk I first heard the saying those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
I don't know how it was done, if it was done at all, or is just the result of some new strain of flu. Who knows? What I do know is that the use of the word pandemic to describe this is over the top at this particular moment. Might it become a pandemic? Sure. Should we be on top of things? Yep. The point I'm trying to make is that with the hyper hysteria in our media today it's not going to take an actual pandemic for everyone to start running around with their hair on fire, and yes, I do believe there's malice behind the current reporting.
We get north of several hundred thousand coming down with this, and several thousand dead, then we can call it a pandemic. Until then, it's just a new strain of the flu, and in a crowded, largely unsanitary nation like China, that's going to be a serious problem...for them
What we can agree on is that Trump articulates his position for shit on this and damn near everything else. Dat's Trump. Come up with someone other than a damn communist, empty headed pandering fake Indian, old dinosaur Joe, and a small town mayor who is a hell of a lot further left then he's playing, and then maybe we can agree on a change in the WH. Until then it's all Orange Man, all the time.

Mike Pence . . . . . the man in charge of making the virus go away.

Just in case you haven't heard, 7 people were killed yesterday in a mass shooting. Media crickets. Why? Production meeting minutes as follows: We can do another run at gun control which does nothing to put the slightest dent in Trumps armour, or lead out and push all day hysterically ranting about the "pandemic". Everyone laughed at the obvious choice and the meeting was adjourned.

ah yes, it must be the deep state. Not the fact that you're crazy, that the shooting was widely reported, or that shootings are once a week now so have lost their reporting appeal.
