market overview- which stocks and sectors?

Hi!
I´m trading the ES future and want to add a qouote page with an overall market overview.

Not sure if it will be usefull for my trading but I want to give it a try and want to have a look at it for some time.

But which stocks and secotors are the most important to watch?

you should be watching what you're trading,
and trading what you want to watch
[stocks, in general, lag futures]


someone else may want to comment on sectors
 
financials (banks, bd's, perhaps credit cards, insurance, fanniemae), Defense, home builders, OSX, Automotive, semi's and computer services, softee, consumer products, commodity businesses.

I think it's a good idea because it's the cash market that underlies the spoo.

The Dow with a few key additions from 'hot' sectors might be a simple start.

S&P 100 issues might be a good approach, too.

Just some ideas.
 
wana, Go to lycos livecharts. The symbol for es is es02z, Check out a default they have set up called U.S. Stockwatch, it is perfect

Nasdaq comp
prem

Those imho are the best
oh also oex

If I was setting it up I might substitute nasdaq100 for the nasdaq comp and probably just bond futures for the index.
