I'm trying to gain a better understanding of the financial markets from a market maker's perspective, details of how they operate, and methods and strategies they used to move the markets.

Any suggestions on books, courses, or websites would be appreciated. I've done the Google thing, so I would like to receive recommendations from others that have also researched the matter.

Sure. I was an independent options market maker on the Amex for 25 years, from 1985 until 2010. I traded both open out cry and electronically. Send me an e-mail with your contact info, and I'll give you a call midday Wednesday.
