market makers and Level II

Is there a way for market makers to see how many people looking at Level II for the same stock? Also can they track which account and/or broker bought/sold stock?

How could they *possibly* tell who is looking at level II? As far as the second question, I don't know.

Yes, the MM would know who the counter party is (the exchange member), but not the specific account.

Instinet terminals will say how many people are looking at the same screen, but for generic level 2 count of viewers is not possible.
