best to think of LLM (ie. chatGPT) as a plagiarist. Good for student term papers, "journalists", legal contracts, ...

It's good for a whole lot more. It will replace many more jobs, order entry at any goods and service front store can be replaced. Text generation, art, journalism all are on the chopping board. What it can't do is making inferences about the relationship between data that enables financial pricing forecasting with positive expectancy.

Anyone using GPT for a trading edge?

Create an LLM, or LTM (“large trading model ” trained on equities data, generate a future market state, and trading based on this prediction/expectation.

I know it’s been done at the institutional level, but now that GPT is becoming available to the Retail investor, perhaps I can now afford it.

Anyone playing this game?

Bitcoin is just a waste of electricity.

AI is the real deal and we are all seriously fucked.

Computer hardware is going to get 10,000x faster over the next 25 years. If the software (neural net) algo's that do AI get just 100x more efficient/faster. Combined together means we are looking at AI that is 1million times more powerful than current GPT.

If the AI can itself come up with better neural net algos for improving itself. Then by 2050 or even earlier we could be looking at AI that are billions of times more powerful than todays AI.
