Market Delta - Transitioning to the New Platform

Quote from alann:

Guys,

Pleased to report that I have resolved the charting problems. I have to admit to user error here.

I have not had one single problem with any of my software today.........everything is working good and I make a point of it to keep learning something new about Inv R/T's charting capabilities everyday (from the links I provided back a few pages ago).

Alann - glad to see you found out your problem.

BTW, I LOVE CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!! :D

The same 1336.00 market profile level I sold twice last week gave me two very clear "delta" shift sell signals again today.....I would have never been able to see this so clear without my current charting.......

Second time to sell the 1336.00 level.........

Some feedback from Trevor:

On the different algorithm in the new version -

"We are taking a look at the whole algorithm and trying to determine why this might be happening. We have made some changes and will have them available in the next upgrade."

On the bug in calculatiing deltas real-time that is corrected by switching time-frames:

"We have heard this from a few others but it seems to be with international instruments. We are testing and hoping to have a fix in the next release next week."

In fact on the last issue they've given me a new beta version to test.

Bolter,

I am trying to persevere with the new version. As I mentioned in my previous post, I had two different prices on two separate charts.

We've just had the launch of the new MD yet, amendments are already being made. It beggars the question as to whether thie product was released too early, without adequate testing.

The more I use it, the more I get the impression that the Investor RT and MD programs have not been fully integrated. They seem like two independent programs which have occasional points of contact.

Alan,
Small price discrepancies like that are a fact of life - in my experience. Unless it becomes commonplace I wouldn't sweat it. If you believe you need exactly perfect price data in order to trade properly you will drive yourself nuts - take it from me!

I don't think the two programs every really were integrated as such. The Market Delta functionality was was redeveloped on the Investor/RT platform. Remember that Market Delta was a Windows only product whereas Investor/RT is multi-platform.

Migrating to a new platform is always a painful experience. Such is the price of progress.

Alann,

1 question pls. I believe that the charts and footprints cannot be minimised, right? I can only resize but not minimised them. Thks

However, something that concerns me is that the candlestick and footprint charts were out of sync earlier, on the ER2 (Russell).

Can anybody suggest a reason why I should have a session high on the c'stick, at 14.38 (UK time) of 732 but, a high on the Footprint of 733.4. Candlestick set up for 110 tick; Footprint on 5 min tf.

Sorry chaps...i have no idea what you mean. I can do anything I would normally expect to do with a window, minimize, maximize, close. All the normal stuff I would expect.

Kind wishes,
MK

Only thing I can think of alann, is that your charts are setup for differing sessions....

kind regards,

As I admitted, previously, it was user error.

What had happened was that when I shut down on Friday, I had left the "floating window" option ticked. Hence, the problem that I described

MidKnight, thanks for the suggestion. I'll have a look at that. I would be surprised if that was the case. I was watching both charts populate; it wasn't something I looked at later. Bolter, I don't consider 14 ticks to be a small price discrepancy.

I'm sure that some of the issues raised would have been unnecessary had a comprehensive user manual been available when the new product was launched.
