it is a bit outrageous to imply that regulation imposing fair lending standards regardless of race is solely or mainly responsible for the huge increase in bad loans. Just because you are black, mexican or asian doesn't mean you have bad credit.

In the SPECIFIC case of THESE bad loans yes Kicking that's the sad reality. The "sub-prime" lending crisis is disproportionately centered in minority neighborhoods and with gigantic levels of criminal fraud present. I knew of a guy who enlisted Chicago street gangs for phony buyers, applicants and appraisals in the late 90's. What's racist on the parts of many liberals is the reluctance to acknowledge that yes black people are smart enough to steal without a gun....
Without replying individually to some of the sub-prime intellect present on this thread; yes Fannie and Freddie were to the Democrats what defense related contractors are to Republicans. Obama has been in the Senate for three and a half years and only one Senator over the past TWENTY years has received more money from Fannie and Freddie than Obama. One needn't be a rocket scientist to follow the trail of tainted money.....
republicans and democrats are two sides of the same coin conning the guilible american public into thinking they have a real alternative.
