He's not giving away anything. It's a shell game. I don't doubt that someday he'll bestow some money on some worth causes, but this public relations event is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.
Yep, as best I can tell, he's setting up a vehicle that can make for-profit investments, make anonymous political donations, and keep voting and operating control of his company, all while it is being advertised as him giving almost his whole company away to charity.
It's not much different than Buffett, who wants credit for being a great philanthropist while not giving it away until after he's dead.
It seems to be the thing to do right now for liberal billionaires. Pretending that they're redistributing all their wealth when they're really not. Public relations.

The best thing a conservative billionaire could do is try to give it all away to conservative causes before they die, or leave it to the kids. Because if you set up a foundation, the leftists will do everything possible to co-op it later.

All these self-righteous billionaires wringing their hands about "ruining" their kids with the money. It doesn't say much about their parenting, does it?

The guy that founded Domino's pizza used his wealth to found a university in Fla near Naples that has about a thousand students and it's based on strict Catholicism. It's called Ave Maria university. USA today named it as one of the top ten colleges in Fla for 2015.
Faculty members have been quoted as calling it a Catholic Jonestown because they won't sell contraceptives on campus. That will only be the start. In a couple of decades they'll be having homosexual parades on campus. It's almost inevitable.
