mark brown said he found the holy grail.

Every weekend I look for a bit of entertainment on ET and also hope (usually in vain) for a spark of inspiration. Thankfully this thread has provided a good measure of both.

Many thanks to 777 & Co. for demonstrating such resolute determination to keep your head in the darkest regions of your arse.

Thanks to Mark for interesting ideas - something to chew on.

I have often posted what will happen next in many time frames, when chop will come and which way it will break - all well before the event. It is just amazing to have so many idiots congregate in one place for the sole purpose of telling those who have worked it out that they are in the wrong.

Did anyone happen to save them? If so, can you send me a copy?

Thanks,

From the original Mark Brown web link posted:

"If one item were to be singled out as the most detrimental to the project, it would have to be that there were preconceived ideas of what a successful trading system should look like. The computer was assumed to be in error, time and time again no matter how successful the per trade profit looked. This assumption of error was perpetuated by the resistance to investigate what the results were showing. The computer modeling did not look and behave as was anticipated by the research team."

"The project completion was being held up because the team refused to allow the computer model to trade the methodology that it found most profitable."

"The main element that was provided to the team was the experience that once you have a methodology that works, you have to let the system do its job."

in the end you all will be confronted with the fact it's only your fearful mind that keeps you from implementing a strategy that makes money.

If you have an extreme short bias because of [news, fundamentals, magic indicators, price too high, PMS, etc), and a long entry is signaled by your Holy Grail system, do you dilute your edge by canceling the long order, or do you check your ego at the door and buy?

I'd venture that those who choose the second option are the profitable traders here.

Those who choose the first option are likely the idiots you refer to, Xpurt.

Information is the grail, recall Hillary made big money in cattle futures, simple as that. Others as well

All else folly..

caveat emptor...... otherwise
Hillary didn't make one penny in cattle futures. What she had was a mirror account. In the old days commodity brokers used them to keep their clients happy. In her case it was used to transfer money from a donor to her husbands campaign.

Excellent!

Here all along I thought it was a crooked scheme!

You get he picture, money is made not by speculation as much as it is on near perfect information..

Yes some made billions on speculation , but odds not as good.... as we know!

Bracket Trader? Is he still around? I remember one day on ET when a poster made a post, it went something like "Hey guys, I just wrote a bracket trading program, if you want to try it here's the link." I downloaded it and started using it the next day. It was one of the few things in my life I never had a problem with. Not ever. Not even once. It was free back then. I hope he's finally making some money off it now.
