Mark,

What is your opinion about using TRIN instead of Advancing shares. KOSPI is the market I trade, and KSE does not not offer advancing shares index, only TRIN and TICK.

Thanks

the trin works very very well but you have to modify the data because its all messed up - so you have to make an oscillator and the modify the signal to buy and sell above and below zero instead of a fixed number like 1385 etc.

I did extensive testing with TRIN and TICK back in the day while looking at mechanical systems and I was unable to find any advantage to using it. Just like any other indicator, it gave good signals just as often as it gave bad signals, so I discarded it.

Curious how you guys are using it.

sorry, i can't tell you. all i can tell you is that it took me a lot of effort and $$ to get where i am now.

the indicators did not work for me either until i tried a deep data mining approach...

now i have the holy grail, and everyone else has sh*t.

i didn't really intend to talk about the trin and im not prepared to dig out all he stuff i have on it. i was trying to stay on topic but there is some very interesting ideas coming from a web site that I do not have anything to do with. in fact i only know of the site because someone made me aware of this guys work.

on this page he tells how to build a better trin. i followed he instructions and tested it, it looked very good. i could see where you could mess with it and really make something great. he sells some products which i have not bought but i have thought about it just because i think he's on to something.

I saw your preference to Stochastic base on Better Oddball. I assume you use it because it yielded better results than others?

ok shortie or stocks777 whoever i didn't bring up the trin and so that is not why i am here. did you have anything to say about the code i posted or the results of that. no because your a professional loser who despises anyone who might be more successful than you.

i was like you many years ago i kept wondering why i didn't drive a ferrari and this and that. when i quit blaming others and just focused on making it myself with no one else to blame, i made it. you need to focus on why your a pitiful loser and what your going to do about it. posting like you do is going to make your rich? going to make me poor? going to educate you or anyone else? what is your purpose? you don't even know just how pathetic you are, crazy!

i think that was lawrence chan not me, i don't think i ever used an indicator much for oddball.

Mark I'm curious who you are using for intra-day breadth data. It has been awhile since I looked at these topics and I think it might be time to dust off and revisit.

I prefer to do my own due diligence and research and I don' t mean to keep us off topic RE: TRIN but the tidbits you just mentioned have me thinking I need to revisit it because I had tossed it aside many years ago...
