HERE IS THE REVISED ARGUMENT:
I donât know the actual answer but letâs do a little comparison: marijuana vs. alcohol!
Before we begin we should try to determine which drug is the most potent; meaning which drug will intoxicate you more using less substance.
âCannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed. The minimum amount of THC required to have a perceptible psychoactive effect is about 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight.[47]â
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_(drug)
So 1 microgram is 10 to the -6 of a gram or 1/1000000 of a gram.
Assuming an adult male who weighs 100 kg you would need 1/1000 of a gram or a milligram to start feeling the effects.
Marijuana is a solid, generally 1 gram (g) will get you stoned (give or take depending on the individual). Now some say that alcohol is way worse than pot. Sure enough, consuming large amounts of alcohol is very bad but letâs do the appropriate conversions in the appropriate units. Alcohol is a liquid and after all, you have to compare apples to apples!
So 1 gram (g) actually equals 1 milliliter (ml)!
1 g = 1 ml
As such, one gram of pot (1g) needs to be compared to one milliliter of alcohol (1 ml).
Obviously, once you have done the appropriate conversions you can clearly tell that pot/marijuana is a far more potent drug than alcohol. As it is highly unlikely that you can get drunk/intoxicated from 1 ml of alcohol even if it is 100 proof (100 %) alcohol. The same is true for cigarettes. By the way the average marijuana plant is only 4.47 % THC. And alcohol varies from 5-12 % for wine and beer to 40 % for âspiritsâ. So as, you can tell, marijuana is definitely more intoxicating for the same unit of mass of consumption.
If anyone sees other mistakes, post a correction please. I still think the argument is valid...
Got to go now...!
