Margin Calls: How many trading accounts got wiped out?

ES Journal had some "Hall of Fame" posts just before and during the crash. They all seemed benign at the time, but in retrospect, great stuff:
(Little did I know at the time that taking profits at that level would've left nearly 90+ additional pts on the table.)

09:51am: Plan on going long 1148.00
10:55am: order pending
11:25am: market failed to get me filled by 2 ticks. therefore moving order to 1143.50
01:13pm: order pending
01:33pm: moving order to 1140.75 (this inspired my "take the opposite side" post above)
02:00pm: didnt get filled. moving order to 1138.75
02:09pm: filled. looking for 1pt profit
02:16pm: plan on adding at 1134.75
02:18pm: Pholeuon interjects: "emg, you are great trader.
But excuse me, make contratrend trade in this volatility with target 1 point is ... nonsense."
02:23pm: emg replies: "patient my friend"
02:33pm: plan on adding at 1125.25
emg goes MIA from this point, but we still have live-action commentary starting at 2:45pm:
NoDoji: Price on my DOM isn't even keeping up, damn!

We've lost all communication with emg for nearly half an hour. Nothing over the airwaves but screaming, crashing, explosions, then 10 minutes of static with the faint sound of flatline in the distance. Then, suddenly...

I, personally, am pleased. If emg had emerged from the ashes and said, "1 pt profit" I might have passed out, fallen face-first into my keyboard and accidentally bought the pivot high.
