Given that the pendulum has swung so far to "pass, pass, pass", maybe Dallas has lucked into the old "run first, pass second" offensive system, much like Dallas enjoyed from 92-96. Defenses aren't prepared for that any more, so doing something different is an asset.

If rebuilding, maybe a team ought to focus on the O-line. Then get a quality RB. Then everything on D - line, corners, secondary... Finally, get a quality QB that fits the "system".

It seems to me that a great D, and solid O-line are key - that gets them to the playoffs. The QB, RB, and WR get them to the Super Bowl.
 
That's pretty much how I see it too. You don't have to have a bunch of All Pro's on the O line, but you can't have any weak links either. If you have elite QB, WRs and RB but lack the other areas, you have the Bears.
 
RB's are a dime a dozen. If I was a GM I wouldn't waste a single pick on a RB. I would invite a bunch of undrafted RB's into camp every year...especially the guys who were backups to studs at football factory schools (like Priest Holmes behind Ricky Williams at Texas).

Right Clubber. I am astounded when teams use a high pick on a RB. It's like announcing you are clueless.

Even having an elite back is no guarantee of anything. Ask the Vikes. Or Titans. Or Bears.
 
Yep. I especially enjoyed Winston claiming they beat themselves, giving no props to Oregon's superior team giving them a beatdown they didn't think could happen. The way half of Florida's team ran off into the locker room without the normal congratulations to the other team was a nice display of class for all to see also.
