Manual trading and profitable?

Sorry, are you asking me if I am trading manually and am profitable?
I am trying to get there, have good and bad days
"Strategies" occur in context and understanding context requires a thorough understanding of market/price behavior and development and that requires a great deal of study, observation and testing. The question you have to ask yourself is are you willing to put in the effort? Dues paid vary widely but dues will be paid. It is not uncommon for it to take years to become consistently profitable as a trader and even that is not enough if a trader is unable to behave as needed consistently.
I don't encourage people to get into trading but I don't discourage anyone who has the drive and work ethic....just understand there is a lot more to it than it might appear to the novice.

Just a general question to one and all, there are so many girls and guys on these forums some with agenda,s and some genuine traders and some traders in the making.
Just getting a feel who is profitable or not.

This is sort of a silly question. (No offense intended.) It is like asking did someone win the Tour de France. As if knowing that will somehow help you do it by drafting on them to the finish line.
There is so much more to trading than P/L. How you do it matter way more. Is it sustainable?
Is it consistent from market to market. Even the same instrument changes over time. Are the risks acceptable? Can you modify your methods? Can you emotionally handle the draw downs. Do you have adequate capital to continue over the long term. Do you have the time to do all these things.
Yes P/L matters in the end, but focusing on it is not how you become a successful trader or even last in trading.

My post was to strike debate not stop it, my thoughts were on the discussion lines of.
If not profitable ,where are you in the curve.
If you are profitable how long did it take.
Are you a manual - Algo trader
etc, etc, etc.
But your reply given was a list of basic trading requirement questions unsure if they were directed for me to answer?
Anyway lets move on.
Of course P/L -- and a positive equity curve matters, Hopefully it happens at the end of our learning journey, and continues on afterwards and i am sure that the people on this forum fully understand the work involved before we get there.
