Man's Best Friend Thread.

Oh crap! We knew we were lucky with this guy. Our Goldens only managed to eat a couple shoes and slippers. My wife had a physical therapist who mentioned her Goldens had eaten every remote control they had in the house.
I hope some of these big companies like Smuckers (they make several brands of dog/cat food) and CHWY with its $17.B marketcap, are sending pet food to help the refugees in Eastern Europe.
You see these news clips, 2MM people, and so many of them have their dogs with them. So easy to understand. It's such a tragedy, and I bet most are just worried about how they'll feed themselves and their children. The world is helping out with food, but I sure hope some big players are sending pet food too. Folks who have never owned a pet may not understand this, but in times of trouble, man's best friend can be just that. They can be a great comfort to a family in distress, especially the children.
It was almost two years ago to the day when America was freaking out about shortages and making runs on toilet paper. We didn't know what was going to happen, myself included, but when I hit the store, the very first thing I went for was the doggy food. We can take care of ourselves, but in exchange for their love, our pets depend on us. These folks need a hand with this too.

Edit: I just checked SJM's website, and zero mention of any aid being sent.
As long time holder (or I was) of this dog stock, (pun intended)... I think I'll send them a slightly annoyed email. It's a plus-plus for them anyway... get the free national press. Donate a few 1000 pallets of Rachel Rays and Milkbones, and get em over there so these people can feed their beloved and not have to worry about that too.

ET's little campaign here might result in thousands of bags of dog and cat food heading to Europe.

A couple years ago when I was doing volunteer work at the local shelter the Chihuahuas were always the ones I feared the most. LOL. All but one I remember would snap, but the one was a real lap dog.
I found my little guy, a mut terrier Benji type, while volunteering. We went on one too many walks and the next thing I knew he was coming home. The "free" dog that cost me 900 bucks in dental work removing his bad teeth a year later. I have since had to cook all his meals so he can eat some good food. It's a labor of love.
Trooper with his big brother Jackson. Trooper is 10 weeks old, found in the woods in Alabama with his 9 brothers and sisters and Mom. Good Samaritan got them to a shelter which then brought them up here. Looks obviously like black lab, but is supposedly German shepherd also. I should be tired and cranky for the next few months.
