If all Mueller gets out of this is an indictment of Manafort and Cohen for tax evasion and money laundering and the financial ruin of General Michael Flynn - in the public's eye that would be an abject failure.

So the the question becomes, how can Mueller indict Trump just to squeeze him if he does not sit for an interview?

As discussed- ad nauseum- Mueller will have his fun with Trump but the minute he goes near any real action that requires a court appearance his fun is over.

I will repeat my usual mantra: You want to indict Trump on obstruction? Go for it. Make my day.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's team has informed President Donald Trump's attorneys that they have concluded that they cannot indict a sitting president, according to the President's lawyer.

"All they get to do is write a report," Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN. "They can't indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us."

Correct and as I mentioned when I posted this, the next question is where does that leave Mueller in regard to his brinkmanship to go to the grand jury if he doesn't sit for an interview? The judge is not interested in convening a grand jury unless you are trying to indict someone.

Also, I know how the demtard mind works which is to point out that that is just Guliani pulling some stuff out of his arse- except in that article you also see Rod Rosenswamp confirming that that is his understanding of DOJ policy as well. Of course they could always take the position that it is just a departmental policy and they are not precluded by law so they are going to take a different approach to Trump. Not the smoothest thing to do if you are trying to avoid appearing as though you are running a witch-hunt. Although we all sort of get that there is one set of rules for Hillary and another for Trump already.

Oh I think this adds a great deal of clarity for Trump’s legal team: answer no questions, do not sit for an interview. Dershowitz was right all along.

1.I would like to hear Muller say that and not take the word of a known liar like Rudy.

2.If true Muller could just be bullshiting trump or he could change his mind or DOJ policy could change.Ken Star,the nixon special council,Fox News top lawyer Andrew Napaltino and many other legal experts say a sitting president can be indicted.

The US Department of Justice concluding Trump comitted crimes and recommending prosecution is pretty good as well.Honstly Im not sure I want Trump gone with Pence taking over.Trump being in office while accused of being a criminal by The US DOJ might be better than Pence.

1. CNN asked Mueller to comment on the matter and he declined. He certainly could have refuted or denied saying that to Trump’s lawyers - but he didn’t.

2. This particular DOJ policy will not change under the current administration. The Attorney General’s signed approval is required for departmental policy changes and that ain’t going to happen.

3. Any argument made by any media talking head will not change DOJ policy.

4. Rosenstein cannot unilaterally change established DOJ policy without the Attorney General’s signed approval and that ain’t gonna happen either.
