It looks like there are no discretionary traders left, so there is no one to take on your challenge. How about a different one: machine against the machine? I'll take you on this one.
nonlinear - what would you want to run ?

I would run my automated trading system.

With regards to your proposed rules, I would suggest:

1. Using a real account instead of the demo account.
2. fundseeder.com as an arbitrator (record keeper) of the results. Just like you, I use IB as the broker, and fundseeder supports IB.

never heard of fundseeder but will look. however, that sounds like a good second round because slipp is factor live vs. demo. Can we put that off until FEB 1. I was hoping to attract folks to come and then dissect the whole process.

I like this thread but the margin difference between forex and futures can make a difference in the results.

This can be resolved by an agreement to use a leverage-neutral metric (such as Sharpe ratio) to determine the winner.

lets see who we can get to join, algo or disc. NOTE TO ALL : this is a friendly..I think we can all get ideas.. I will start posting stuff later today. I am also going to let guys log in an see the TS algos run live if they want. I will look into fund seeder

some background my approach for other traders. below is an updated algo chart. PM me for join.me log in. its runs 24/5

Rules or underpinnings of algos.
There is no magic way that works all the time
Its easier to be 50/50 than 80/20
Loses are necessary evil of risk management
Algo diversification – styles and trend direction
** KEY** Trade when algo is working , off when not

Percieved Edge
-faster execution
-Track more instruments
-Fewer errors
-emotionless

8 different Aglos, 4 EURUSD and 4 USDJPY
1 Bi-directional trend model – long short looking for trends
1 Bi-directional Chop model – long short look for periods of Chop
Long only model - only takes long – rationale based on 2D modeling
Short Only Model – only takes short

2D Modeling – this s where algo code comes into play. Instead of trading the original trading system signal, we analyze the equity curve and trade based on that – 2d = Second derivative

Money Management = $150-300 per trade risk
Risk budget = $6-8k - a little out of TST but risk peanute, make peanuts
Max Position = 3 & 3 for approx. 20k margin

ALGOs at at 4:05pm
