Man Tries to Break Into WARREN Buffett's Home

Quote from day7793:

He has lately started giving it to Bill Gates ( another rich man) and his foundation ( God knows what that does ).

Maybe instead of giving your spare change to homeless people on the street it would be more effective giving it to the Bill and Melinda Gates charitable foundation. You can do your due diligence here:

<i>"I have a cell phone, computer and a part time chauffeur. Warren Buffet with his immense wealth doesn't have any. Why?
Why these guys don't like cell phones? They are still working with land lines?"</i>

Cell phones are ok for occasional use, best carried while turned off so the whole world doesn't keep barging in on our privacy. A part-time chauffeur? You must be single.

I'd much, much rather live Buffett's life that Hef's. Hefner has been nothing but cheap plastic, a pretender his whole life... now just an 80yr old still trying to fake it like he's 30. How pathetic.

Quote from day7793:

At some point money becomes a sickness. Once you have provided yourself enough to last a lifetime and many more, its an obsession of some kind, a pathetic quest for power. If you are thrifty and frugal at that stage, saving pennies, living in old houses, driving your own cars, and donot part from your wealth much, than your are some sick dude, wrapped up in some delusions of insecurity and what not.

It got to be sick after that in my opinion.

So anybody who amassed a fortune and doesn't live like Donald Trump or Hugh Hefner is mentaly ill? I think you're the one who's delusional, buddy. When you're thinking of wealth, the images you associate with that word are carefully crafted by people who used their wealth as a claim to fame. Most people who'd fall into that category actually have a very good sense of what a dollar's worth.

viagra and money=glitter are Hef's equalizers. If he were a blue-collar worker, his nights would be spent a lot differently.

A goodly number of men out there do live his pretensions in reality. Hugh would feel blessed to take notes from some who actually live his fantasies in reality

Quote from day7793:

I hate CHEAPSKATES and people who hold money to the chest.

Today I was in a poor part of town, an old Mexican woman with white hairs in a pony tail was pushing a cart full of tin cans, she was looking in the malls dumpsters. I pulled up behind her , gave here all the coins from my car holder. She mumbled some prayer, I walked away didn't look back...

The above two statements contradict themselves. You don’t like cheapskates yet when you see a person in need you give them your change?! Even when I, of the cheapskate-clan, want to give to someone needy, I use bills, not any change I can dig up from the bottom of my car!

Show me the proof. From what I have read and heard this isn't an image he creates to get the balls rolling on ET. If you know otherwise, please share, otherwise I think the watermelon just can’t fathom how someone so rich can live so ‘poor’.

The Sage's image is simply the opposite of the flashy spenders like Trumpster and Uncle Hef. This image pleases his shareholders and fans which are primarily of the "depresion era" mindset. The archetype of the frugal billionaire is very appealing to a certain demographic--- this type of person "buys" into the Sage's image the same way others "buy" into Uncle Hef's.

It's very obvious that this is the case, no hard proof is required, simply observation suffices. How does the public KNOW the Sage drives a Buick and supposedly lives frugally??? They know since this was told to the media by Buffett or his publicist/media relations people. Then, this meme grows getting larger and larger untill the half truths become common knowledge accepted as the total fact.

There are many billionaires who live quietly and no one knows about them--- if the Sage's image was 100% real this would be his persona, not the carefully cultivated "frugal billonaire" media darling he is.
