Malicious trolling and stalking

Most VPNs will have servers scattered all over the world. You can pick which server you want to connect to and hence what country you want to appear that you are in.

...and this is how I watch Netflix via Japan, because the show is only available there.

But anyhow, I have an invention I never heard of before: randomized shadow ban.

For those lucky ones whom don't know what a shadow ban is, when the owner of the site or a moderator shadow bans a user, although his posts show up seemingly for him, nobody else sees them. This cuts down drastically on fights, because no one is biting.

Now my invention is the randomized part. You see even assholes smarten up sooner or later that nobody is biting into their trolling, thus they make a new handle. But if the shadow ban only bans every 2nd, 3rd or 4th post, the asshole still gets responses just much less than before. This way the shadow ban isn't obvious, and the troll doesn't make a new handle every other day.

The randomization can depend on the assholliness. The bigger the idiot, the more % of his posts are blocked. It could also have time limits, thus once the poster cools off, the shadow ban can be lifted.

No charge for the idea...

I know, sure, but it's shady not to offer any color. He could state that it's some server farm vs. some random dude's home IP. What would be the reason for running a VPN to post here?

What if that IP was in Chicago or around?

read this page

I can not believe that Xela knew where the picture was taken from just looking at it,i am not buying it,no way.

You understand why i say Chicago and don't say more....

Geolocating an IP goes a long way. Say someone logs into ET 4K times and all from one IP. You check the static IP and it's not a server farm--the person is probably legit.
Totally agree with this assessment.

When it comes to surf, he made one of the best blunders of all. He once posted a picture from an alias that actually had the co-ordinates of where the pic was taken embedded. Sure enough, it was exactly from where he supposedly lives. Nice view too! :D

To his credit, he had the finest collection of fake Swiss watches on ET.

My guess was that truetype shared his/her login credentials with surf for a while the last time surf was here. It felt like two different people were using that handle at the same time.
