I recall on another forum Alexa going into detail about her Asperger's Syndrome and autism. I suspect its possible whoever was writing this part was possibly being at least partly truthful. Because it seems to me there was no rational explanation for such effort, so a psychological / developmental disorder becomes a more viable explanation.
