There's also the matter of how much confirmation one requires, which is a function of how much he needs to be right. These are all personal issues.

Some ramblings:
The need to be right is synonymous with Ego, when in Ego you are not open to all of the information that is being presented. The Ego already knows the answer; if the answer is known then no more information is needed.
There is a saying you can be right or you can make money.
If we (as traders) truly believed in our setup, edge, whatever you want to call it, then there would be no hesitation, fear or the need for more confirmation when our setup, edge, etc.. presented itself.
Why, because one trade doesn't make or break us, we also know that we are going to have losing trades.

Off topic - sorry - but I'm trying to move over to Sierra Chart. The learning curve isn't bad but do you know of a good tutorial for charting basics? Their built in support files don't line up with Windows 8.
