take a look at the performance of KSE(karachi stock exchange - pakistans biggest stock exchange) over the last 3 years. Then come back and tell whether u wud wanna go long or short

But I'm interested in a pairs trade. Long India, Short Pakistan. Long fractious stable democracy, short flailing military dictatorship that is about to have economic aid from the US reduced.

if i were u i would go long on the both markets. What you dont understand is that political events have little or no ramifications on the performance of stock exchange and corporations in the pakistan. If you go back 3 years and compare performance of KSE with political events ull notice that much more serious events(compared to bhuttos assasination) have happened......the markets took a slight blow but eventually headed UPWARDS

What broad based funds are there that cover Pakistan for foreigners? The ADRs I've seen are mainly otc/pink sheets.

Can someone answer the previous poster's question about a Pakistani ETF? We can read the newspapers and watch the TV news as well as everyone else, thanks. Don't need the news bulletins.
