I will confine my comments to the topic of Laterals. Laterals are always a point of confusion, me included.
Lats are containers, of a different breed. The big question of a Lat (IMO) is whether the Lat container is...
1) a sideways "substitute" or "run-way" for what "should" be an upsloped or downsloped container, thereby making the Lat an overlap or ftt of sorts.
_or_
2) a sideways walk foretelling continuation of a larger container. This might involve a fanning of a larger container to encompass the Lat, if/as/when appropriate.
Lats by nature, are comprised of FFs. JH stated more than once that a Lat is either tradable or it is not. Obviously wider is better, but wider also offers more FFs, not necessarily only one FF. Rethink the previous paragraph... is this Lat a "substitute" or just a sideways walk? The answer may give passage to being tradable or not. Beyond that, FF's are not the prescribed trading fractal, so sidelining or holding through a Lat are both acceptable within the JH teachings. If confused, sideline.
Since the Lat is comprised of one or more FFs, volume needs to viewed differently.
Below is how I see the "visual fractal" gaussian, which is not necessarily the prescribed trading fractal. It is not precise, and I did not deal with containers.
HTH, but if it only confuses, I understand and please just disregard.

Nice points. I tried to incorporate lats as prescribed, though ended up more confused and didnt see all the meaning yet. It has to make sense.
Lat is like one squished bar on a tf. On higher tf it is like ib. On lower it will cease to exist and translate. Jh recommended bm for lat not rtls, follow sentiment. Most charts on et are fluid pa, but sometimes very high vola gives very wide lats and lats within lats. Sometimes lats are cont othertimes change. Sometimes volume is clear, othertimes price may just start drifting to bo.
It's enough to make one think it all illusion. But need to put all clues together. See all charts as unique.
