Major Problem Editing Quote Tracker

Hi.

I have put Quote Tracker on my parents computer. It is working fine except I cannot edit any preferences.

The preferences box will not even show up. Nor the edit portfolio box.
Pulldown menus appear but when I choose any - nothing.

Any ideas? suggestions?
