Maintaining optimal mental state

Messy life usually leads to messy outcome. Don't clutter your mind with junk. Don't over-analyze and don't over-prepare. Come up with a simple strategy even a child could understand.

Confucius say; It does not matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop.LOL, great quote. But on second thought, yes, a turtle won the race against the rabbit, in the kids book. But much better is IBD quote = don't quibble over a quarter + miss the move.:D:D,:D:D:D:D:D:D

Good point. I'm going through his book now and he said something profound that I've been thinking a lot about:

"There's nothing like losing all you have in the world for teaching you what not to do. And when you know what not to do in order not to lose money, you begin to learn what to do in order to win."

This was quoted after his 4th time of going bust.

I see it more like an alcoholic saying he wont ever drink again after a bender. . . we all know what happens. Something needs to CHANGE inside us for things to play our differently. Usually significant changes.

I maintain my optimal mental state from going out surfing, wind/kite surfing, swimming, hiking, bike riding, etc. on most days. I will pick up my guitar or a book if I can't get out. It is important to have outlets outside of trading - your life style has a direct bearing on your trading performance.
In this business, being a loner is not a disadvantage, in fact it maybe an advantage.

A successful trader often is compulsive/obsessive about trading, would be very happy to spend 24/7 thinking about charts/trades or everything associate with winning methodology.
