Arnie. This is extremely well known and was widely publicized during roll out of Obama care. Initially the Fed gov. picked up 100% of the cost of expansion, and this, over time, rolls back to 90%. That's the reason all those jackass, republican governors that blocked expansion of medicaid in an attempt to throw a monkey wrench into Obamacare are guilty of political malpractice. What they did in effect was to block hundreds of thousands from access to real medical care while at the same time their constituents were paying for the expansion but not getting it! And too, there are deaths that can be attributed to lack of adequate care for some people with chronic conditions that were blocked from medicaid, and the welfare system was not sufficient to handle their case. The only thing that kept a few of these folks alive was that once they were on deaths door they could finally qualify for S.S. disability, and that in turn qualified them for medicaid.Source?
The reason those Governors acted like assholes was because they knew that Obamacare depended on expansion of medicaid. Without expansion, several million would be left with too little income to qualify for subsidized premiums on the exchanges while not being able to satisfy their states medicaid eligibility requirements. Every single one of those Governors lied when they told their constituents that their States could not afford to expand medicaid. And everyone of them lied intentionally knowing that by blocking expansion they were throwing a monkey wrench into Obamacare in an intentional effort to wreck it.
