Magtard spits on grocery store worker who asked him to wear a mask — and immediately gets hit in the face: police

A tourist staying in Puerto Rico allegedly spit on a grocery store employee who asked him to put on his face mask — and then wound up getting hit right in the face.

Univision reports that police say a man named William Martin Drew went to an Econo grocery store in Rincón, Puerto Rico on Tuesday night while wearing a mask that was dangling around his neck and not covering his face.

When an employee asked the man to put it on, police say the man became aggressive and spat on him — after which he got hit in the face by a security guard.

I know English is the 1st language and Spanish 2sd. We had a get away home on Ambergris Caye for a decade. If you're not a water person the humidity will be uncomfortable. Two things have crept into Belize in the last decade. Immigrants from Guatemala and Honduras escaping political corruption, more Spanish spoken, and narcos using it as a distribution point melding in with them. Still not as bad as many places but the vibe in Belize City has changed from 20 years ago when we started in Ambergris.

I came down from Mexico by speedboat and spent a four days on Caye Cauker, really nice. Belize city had a distinct grimyness from what I saw.

It was really magical paddling around with massive tarpons below. I probably bit off a little too much one day doing a full circuit of the northern and southern island (wind picked up) but I loved the climate in early February.

As I'm based in Colombia now full time it was easy before covid to take an internal flight to San Andrés, when there I think of Belize a lot, I must return some day.

The scenario was, I was standing outside in the yard of a relative's house, chatting with the relative. We're facing each other. The next thing I know, he grabbed a shovel right nearby and ran behind me and hacked the thing in two. He said he saw it slithering right to where I was standing and whacked it as it got within 4 feet of me. He said it was moving really quick

I was wearing shorts with no socks or shoes of course, since it was fricking summer.

The same bloody thing happened the next day. Turns out they had made a nest near there by the foundation of the home, so it was prolly a male/female combo.

I once got bit after stepping in a nest of Cottonmouths. After 3 days of intense pain and suffering, they all died. Sorry, I’m going to hell for that one.

Sure they were Coral snakes and not King snakes? Red(Banding) touches yellow, kill a fellow; Red touches black, good for jack.
