magic journal of doom

Very slow day for this system today. it only had one entry signal(GLBL) which I took late, I might add. I had an entry signal to short early on but decide not to take it because of the overall trend of the market is up(going against my system here). This was definately a mistake because it would have been very profitable for the day. Then after a few hours it gave me a buy signal on GLBL again which I decided to take(learn to always follow your system!!!).

I scaled in to GLBL 3000@12.65 averaged. after a few hours I got a exit signal and scaled out 2500@12.71 averaged. I keep the remaining 500 because the price had gone out of my exit range. I'll exit the rest on Friday...... net $153

The rest of my position did not change. have a great Turkey day everyone see you on Friday.
 
Well did anyone went out shopping at 5:00AM or are you just happy to have the market reopen today. Volume was extremely low today but I had a good signal on QDEL and made some money.

The return for this week is a surprise to me due to the fact that there was only 3.5 trading days. I didn't get any exit signal on most of my position this week. Therefore, most of my gain is still unrealized. All in all, it was a good week. The week to week gain percentage is almost unchanged.

Goals achieved for this week includes keeping account over 25K and matching or exceeding last week returns. Goals for next week, try to maintain week over week performance, try to catch every entry signal, maintaining same discipline on the exit points and double check every order for correctness.
 
OK today was a crazy day I over traded and ignore my system for the most part. I think I was over confident by making almost $900 on my first trade. Instead of sitting back and let my system give me signals, I created my own trading thinking I'll make tons of money today, of course I ended up giving most of it back. Also it was a bad day for my unrealize P/L it went down about $500 and exited several positions on system signals.

After this morning debacle, I have to rethink if I should close out all my position on Friday to lock in the unrealize gains instead of letting it ride over the weekend and see a drawdown on Monday. On second thought, I better just follow my signals.

Instead of a nice net gain of $1080...
I ended up with $1080-860 = $220

That sure does hurt but I did it to myself. I can't blame it on the market. Well another lesson learn, tomorrow is a new day.
 
Hehe...I did the exact same thing 2 fridays ago. Was up almost 1200...gave almost every penny back. (i think i netted like 50 bucks) Hurt almost as bad as if I had actually lost 1200 that day. But anyways I like reading your journal because we both started at almost the same time so its nice to see how someone else is doing compared to me. (Your doing better right now, but next month watch out.) :D I dont have the balls to trade 3000 shares yet...im only up to 1000 and I think it will be a month before i go to 1500..maybe longer. Anyway, keep up the good work.


P.S. Dont forget to subtract your commissions, brother, or your numbers look padded hehe. :)
 
Actually, I under inflate my numbers......my actual net is $286

Well this trend trading is new to me but I been day trading since 1999.

GAH....nothing was going on today and when it did I missed the signal!!!!

I was getting bored all day so I went out for some fresh air, came back and saw my KNOT signal flashing by the time I got back it was already at 11.90...I miss it the build up at 11.50-11.60...as you well know I exited KNOT yesterday at a lost...and I miss the 10% train today oops...

As of this moment I am experiencing the dreaded drawdown due to the market condition that took away 80% of my UPL from last week. Maybe I should have taken the profit on Friday after all. Its not an actual lost but DD none the less. If I don't get anymore signals by the end of this week then I will see some red numbers for the week or week P/L eventhough its unrealized.
 
wow 80% from last week...thats $1,745 you are down then (unrealized)? hmm, I have a realized PL of +$1,380 for the last 5 days...it makes ya wonder if im on the other side of your trades. **evil grin** Just kidding :) I dont trade nasdaq stocks :D
