Magatards charged with a hate crime for vandalizing a Black Lives Matter mural

Can anyone actually tell me why black lives matter? It is a very politically correct phrase but seems to lack any substance.

No one, I mean no one, has stated why

black lives matter

1.
2.
3.

Recent events certainly seem to show that black lives do not matter to other blacks.

Drive by , stick a gun out the window, shoot a black, - "This is what we do Bro."

It is kind of like nigger. Not suppose to use it but most blacks do.

Why does your life matter ? What compels you to post racist ideas on here every week ? Why do you lie about your trading experiences ? The answers are clear, you are extremely ignorant and not too bright. Not really sure what went wrong with you. Racist parents, indoctorined in a racist group, brain injury or all of the above but clearly something happened to you and you are deeply damaged.

Woman Loses Job After Video of Her Yelling 'White Lives Are Better' at BLM Protesters Goes Viral

A Tennessee woman has been fired after a video showing her yelling racist and homophobic comments towards protesters went viral over the weekend.

During a protest sponsored by the New Panther Initiative, a Black Lives Matter group, in Elizabethton, Sonya Holt is filmed yelling, "White lives matter!" and "White lives are better!"

She also tells a protester, "You're just a poor little Black girl with a messed up mind."

In another clip, Holt is shown berating a protester with homophobic slurs before telling him that he is going to "burn in hell."

On Monday morning, Keith Family Vision Clinic in Johnson City confirmed Holt was no longer an employee, according to local news.

A man standing next to Holt was also hurling racial comments at the peaceful protesters, as he said, "We should have kept you [N-words] as slaves."

Sierra Gilmer, who recorded the video, told WJHL that she was surprised at the reaction of the counter-protesters.

"It was crazy," the 16-year-old said. "We kind of knew what to expect going into it. We knew there was going to be a counter-protest there. We knew that things might get a little bit crazy. However, I wasn't expecting that."

"I think it's just important for people to realize that racism is happening everywhere and it is in your community, no matter how much you think it might not be," she continued. "I had a lot of people reach out to me saying that they didn't realize that this was a problem in Elizabethton but now their eyes are open. So, I think people just need to stay aware and address it when they see it."

“If I could talk to her, I would just tell her that I love her anyways and I think that it's a learning experience," Gilmer said of Holt. "She should take it as a learning experience and apologize to everybody because I'm not the only person that she talked to like that, and educate herself, educate her children and move on with her life."

don't agree w/the "hate crime" charge (am guessing that's what "violation of civil rights" means?). Vandalism in protests sure, but this is bordering on making "speech" a hate crime. By the same token, they could say that molotoving unoccupied patrol units is terrorism or tearing down statues is a "hate crime". It also devalues the meaning of the term.

Sounds like the argument here is they infringed on others' 1st amendment rights by trying to damage the message and it carries extra weight because those others represent a minority? That's a tall order, take the statute examples, they're an artist's form of expression....are we impeding w/their speech/expression once the message is out there by toppling them?
I'm glad you agree that calling this a hate crime is lunacy. At worst it's simply vandalism, and that only if this "mural" was properly approved to begin with. Was there a permit to put it there? Was the normal process followed for contracting work to be done on a public street? What funds, if any, were approved. If this is just unapproved "street art" then it's not even vandalism and can be argued the couple were just cleaning up the community. Whatever the case it's not remotely a hate crime and only a complete lunatic would think it is.
