Conijn's husband claims he came out of his house when he saw someone pull into his driveway, believing they were trying to steal his political sign.
A fight reportedly then broke out between Conijn's husband and the man who had arrived with Cohee, before Conijn's husband was chased back inside his home.
Conijn's husband told officers that Cohee and the other man started beating on his front door with a wheelbarrow, at which point Conijn exited their home and fired a gun towards the parked vehicle.
The shot struck Cohee, whose body was found 50ft from the house and 25ft from the road.
The man who arrived with Cohee allegedly admitted to taking the political sign.

In my town a bunch (maybe 100) of Biden signs were vandalized ahead of a maga rally. Too bad all those liberals are pussies who don’t own guns. It would have been a blood bath all of us would enjoy.

Any problems could just be avoided if people didn't steal stuff out of other people's yards.
Unless a home owner's association for your neighborhood only allows political signs to remain up during a set number of days before/after an election --- then you have right to leave a political sign in your yard for as long as you like -- assuming it does not violate local ordinances for the size of the sign or your town does not have rules regarding political signs as well.
Political signs on public rights of way are typically collected by the town/city/county 10 days after the election if they are not removed by backers of the candidate. Locally, our city hires people as contractors after the election to go collect these signs on public rights of way.
