U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn is calling for parents to "start pulling their children out of public schools." The North Carolina far right Republican who has aligned himself with pro-QAnon and "Sedition Caucus" lawmakers did not specify why, but he himself was homeschooled. Cawthorn nearly flunked out of his first semester of college, exiting the school with a "D" average.
His remarks may be an attempt to tap into the manufactured anger conservatives are expressing– anger ginned up by false reports from right wing media about Attorney General Merrick Garland's memo which actually calls for "discussions" with state, local, and Tribal leaders on how to respond to the massive spike in threats, racist threats, and death threats against school board officials and educators.

It is sad that it is coming to the point where people can not defend themselves from the nut jobs out there.
It's sad that politicians violate state law by taking weapons in schools -- despite being told many times they are violating the law by dong this.
So school shootings are safe then. Got it.
Which part of "violating state law by taking weapons of any kind into a school" do you fail to understand?
Maybe that person wants to defend themself. Laws can and do get changed once people realize that a current law is stupid.
He is in a school board meeting surrounding by cops... what's the security risk?
Cawthorn should obey the law. But we already know he doesn't do this. After all he never obeyed the laws about sexual harassment and sexual assault.
The Cops can have guns. Why can't we even carry a knife? Anyway, a picture of him having a knife doesn't even prove anything. This wasn't even investigated.
It is a smear campaign.
