The cop that called 911 and later recanted his story (lie) that the guy had threaten him...
- The cop should be fired.
The strange aspect is that the guy was delivering at 2am in the morning...
- It must be the "early morning edition".
My point, the cop was trying to start some shit with the guy and knew he was the newspaper guy unless the cop had just moved / new to the neighborhood but he still would have saw the guy walk up or throw newspapers on the front porch considering the said the saw the guy going from house to house.

Yet, I don't know much about newspaper delivery...the guy in my neighborhood delivers the newspaper around 5:30am in the morning and my street is first on his route...

Just as strange, that cop didn't recognize his as their newspaper guy especially when he was going from house to house...didn't he see the guy out of his car and deliver the newspaper ???

Our previous newspaper carrier delivered papers to our neighborhood around 2am in the morning. The Raleigh News & Observer was available for distribution just after midnight. This guy was a night owl and would pick them up in the middle of the night and everyone would have their paper by 3am. Of course in our area they just toss it from a car into your driveway.
When his replacement took over the route they typically delivered about 6am or 7am in the morning -- which seemed to be "late" to everyone (all which were so used to middle of the night delivery).
Thanks for that anecdote, honestly my BS radar did find it suspect the guy was delivering at the time, knowing nothing about the job.

You know your neighborhood and the habits / routine of your newspaper delivery guy.
- Simply, the police officer most likely knew the exact same considering he is a veteran cop.
Something else fishy about the story...its a police officer that called 911...a veteran police officer.
My neighbor is a veteran police officer recently retired...him and his fellow officers knew each other so well...they had each other private cell phone number. I wouldn't be surprise after he made that 911 phone call to look like he was just a concerned citizen...
- He immediately called his buddies after talking to the 911 operator and that would explain why all those police cars showed up.
Just as important, the newspaper guy should print out photos of himself on 8 x 10 paper and attach it with his news paper delivery to announce / introduce himself to the neighborhood about their newspaper delivery guy and the car make he's using to deliver their paper without mentioning the incident with that asshole cop.
Most likely, the neighbors are already now aware of the police officer actions.
The key of the story to me wasn't the ethnicity of the newspaper guy...it was the fact that the veteran cop told the 911 operator that he's watching the guy drive from house to house. Simply, the cop would have also seen the guy delivering the newspaper...throwing it to the house or getting out of his car to put the newspaper on the porch.
This is a veteran cop that wanted to fuck with the newspaper guy.

If I was the newspaper guy...this day going forward...that cop will only get his newspaper delivered at the front corner of his yard or the newspaper will be put in his mailbox at the corner of his driveway if the cop had a mailbox out front.
