Interesting in India that they still allow hydroxylchloroquine to be used as a preventative on some regions; but stated it cannot be used for trestment. India has come out very directly stating that hydroxylchloroquine is not beneficial in treating COVID-19 even when used with zinc and zpaks. Many studies back-up their statements showing no beneficial treatment effects for hydroxylchloroquine-based therapy for COVID-19.

It does not work as a preventative. India manufactures so much of it, and state governments stockpiled so much of it. Along with so many individuals stockpiling so much of it at home.... that some local governments in India decided that it is best just to let people use it if they were going to anyway. It is the equivalent of handing out sugar pills.... it is a mere placebo.
