Are you freaking kidding me? that is ridiculous. I guess Paulson is genuinely worried that his friend's may not get bailed out. Paulson and Bernanke must have thought this would be a cake walk; come in, scare up congress, get the money, go back to NY. Really a sad commentary of our current situation.
 
Yeah, I had to read that a few times to make sure I actually got it right - I didn't believe my eyes at first.
The original article gives some more craziness. Apparently McCain surprised the Administration with some house Republicans alternative proposal.
